Recently received a letter from Bob Bitzko, asking about my continued interest in receiving information via The Indian newsletter. I tried the web address he included, nkfc.indian@gmail.com, and it was not located to be opened. Yes, I am interested in continued info about New Hackensack, especially since 2019 marks the 70th Anniversary; wishing that plans are being made to celebrate. I was in the Hudson Valley last Sept '18 with my daughter Tina and granddaughter Amber, celebrating her 40th Anniversary graduating from RCK HS. After visiting the Apple Farm, we were fortunate to find a veteran member of the Company who gave us all a nice tour of the station. Sorry I cannot remember his name. Previously, I contacted Howard Prager to send me the info used in the funeral ceremony, which I used at the wake of my 102 yr old Uncle who retired as Battalion Chief of the Watertown, NY FD.
Unfortunately, my wife Wanda, who until around 2000 had been actively involved dancing. in a theater company here, has moderate Dementia, and I have become her caregiver.

My uncle, Robert 'Bob' Walker served many years on your department. He was truly a great man and I miss him dearly.
Stay safe guys!

Just wanted to send a sincere thanks for many years of Santa on the fire truck. For the last eight years my grandsons, ages 8 1/2 and 4 1/2, have looked forward to his visit on their block, Shady Brook Drive. I have enjoyed playing "lookout" from my home on Park Hill Drive, hearing the siren first and jumping into my car to join the kids for the fun. Their block is tiny, but Santa always got a warm welcome there. This year the boys have a new baby sister, making a quick run to the car to welcome Santa at MacGeorge's too difficult, since it is hard to predict the schedule of a two month old, and then get everyone snugly buckled into the car before Santa leaves. Again, thank you for the lovely eight year Santa experience !!!
Merry Christmas, and safety to you all during the coming year!

I have seen and read about the 9-11 memorial at your Firer House. It is with sincere thoughts and appreciation of what you all do and stand for. From the bottom of my heart I Thank You ! I spent time at Ground Zero with first responders and witnessed the destruction and the lose of so many lives and I will never forget. In my own ways I remember and pay tribute to September 11th 2001. On every Anniversary of 9-11 since 2002 I have choosen a bridge either in Westchester, Conn.or Dutchess Cty.For the last 8years it has been the Wiccopee Bridge over I 84 I start waving our American Flag at 8:46am to 10:28am.and at our home we proudly display a dedication and remembrance on our lawn. Please feel free to stop by. I am a retired Telephone man and retired VP of the Communications Of America Local 1103 for 33 years. Once again I recognize that most of you have full time jobs and then serve and protect our community. May God Bless you all and keep you safe. This year will be the first year I will miss do to a 9-11 fund raiser. " Never Forget - Never Forgive"
