New Hackensack’s history stretches back to 1948. Prior to the birth of the fire district and fire company, there was no fire protection and homes and barns just burned to the ground in what became known as “No Man’s Land.”
The dedication of the memorial was held September 11, 2011. It was built with a piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center.
In Grateful Remembrance and Recognition of those volunteers who gave their time and effort on behalf of their fellow man.
